The Future of Branding is Personal

Seems like every time you look at something online, you have to question its authenticity. We are living in world where stories, articles, photos and even video is being creating just from a prompt. Technology is changing the way that we work, but it doesn't change what matters most, connection, trust and belonging.

People want realness!
It's part of the reason why reality tv was so successful and why TikTok exploded. You were able to see into someone's life and connect with them on their values, struggles and life in general. Connection can even be found with nostalgic things no matter how much we advance in technology because when you're Gen X and see a Speak & Spell or a Polaroid Camera, it makes you emotional and remember being a kid. Millennial? It's probably Game Boys and Hannah Montana. Every generation has their connection triggers. You connect with those things. They are part of your childhood.
So, how can your brand connect?
Find ways to connect with your target audience on a personal level whether it's by pulling back the curtain and sharing the faces and voices behind your brand or by triggering emotions and building a loyal community. The more transparent that you and your business can be, the more trust you're going to build. And building trust, builds loyalty.
The future of branding isn't about being the biggest and flashiest. It's about being the most personal. Your brand doesn't need to be on every social media outlet that's available. It needs to be somewhere that feels real and human to the people that matter the most.
