CHOOSE YOUR PLATFORM There are several platforms that can be used. To choose the right one for your business you need to figure out what you want it to do for you. Are you going to use it just for mass emails or do you want to be able to utilize it for your blog and social media posts as well?

BREAK THROUGH THE SPAM FILTER Companies these days have sophisticated systems that can sense when an email is a mass email and they toss it to the “Junk” folder without your email ever reaching the desired consumer. The rules about what is and is not considered as spam has changed over the years. If you oversee your company’s email campaign, make sure that you are familiar with the CAN-SPAM Act. This law includes rules for how commercial emails can be sent as well as establishes certain requirements. It clearly states what is considered a violation and what the penalties are for those violations.

INTEGRATE SOCIAL MEDIA Those that receive your emails are more likely to act on the content such as liking your Facebook page, or by following you on Twitter or Instagram. If you add social buttons to your email, it will make them easy to share. If consumers can easily click on your social button, they will more than likely become active on your social media accounts.

NAIL IT WITH A KILLER SUBJECT LINE Use your subject line to draw in your customer. Speak to them and give them a reason to open up and engage in your content. Make sure your subject line is short and capturing.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR CONTENT Make sure that you consider the demographics of your target consumer as well as their habits. Design your content with your ideal consumer in mind. What will appeal to them? What will engage them? What are they looking for? What are their goals?
